Worth Noting: Starter Bruce Billings had another impressive outing, allowing no walks and striking out 8 over 8 shutout innings to earn his 4th win. Third baseman Brandon Inge was clearly the offensive star of the game, going 5 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs and driving in 7 runs. Catcher Derek Norris hit his 7th home run, and Manny Ramirez went 1 for 5 and is now 6 for 25 in his 7 games with the River Cats.

Starter Murphy Smith allowed 7 runs, 4 earned, over 6 innings to take the loss, and left-hander Sean Doolittle struck out 2 in 1 inning of scoreless relief.

Worth Noting: Third baseman Miles Head continued to wield the big stick for Stocktonon Saturday, blasting a game-winning walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Ports the victory. Outfielder Dusty Robinson doubled and drove in a run in the effort, and starter Ian Krol turned in a solid outing, allowing 2 runs and striking out 6 over 6 innings of work, but right-hander Zach Thorton picked up the win with 1 inning of scoreless relief.

Infielders Wade Kirkland and B.A. Vollmuth both collected 2 hits and drove in 2 runs in the win. Starter Drew Granier allowed 4 runs, 3 earned, over 5 2/3 innings, but left-hander Jeff Urlaub earned the win with 1 1/3 innnings of scoreless relief.
