Worth Noting: The River Cats managed only 4 hits against the Iowa Cubs on Monday. Infielder Luke Hughes doubled in Sacramento’s only run, Derek Norris, Brandon Moss and Brandon Hicks collected the Cats other hits, and starter Travis Banwart allowed 3 runs over 6 innings to run his record to 3-2.

Worth Noting: The RockHounds came back in the 9th inning against Frisco on Monday to snap their 6-game losing streak. Outfielder Shane Peterson, who had been 0 for 4 in the game, singled in the game-winning run. Outfielder Jeremy Barfield, who’s been the team’s hottest hitter of late, had 2 hits, including a home run, and crossed the plate 3 times. Starter Sonny Gray allowed 2 runs over 4 2/3 innings of work, and right-hander Jonathan Ortiz picked up the win with 1 inning of scoreless relief.

Worth Noting: The Ports ran their epic losing streak to 14 games on Monday. They actually managed to tie the game in the top of the 6th inning, but then proceeded to give up a run in the bottom of the 6th, and another 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th. First baseman A.J. Kirby-Jones’ 3-run homer was the big blow for the Ports in the 6th. Infielder Miles Head collected 2 hits in his return to the lineup after a personal absence. Starter T.J. Walz allowed 5 runs over 5 2/3 innings to take the loss.

Worth Noting: Burlington got a solid outing from starter Jonathan Joseph, who allowed just 1 run over 5 innings of work. Unfortunately, the Bees couldn’t muster much offense themselves. Outfielder Eliezer Mesa collected 2 hits, and third baseman B.A. Vollmuth singled in the Bees’ only run.
