Worth Noting: Starter Brad Peacock allowed just 1 run and struck out 8 in 5 innings for the win, and Fautino De Los Santos struck out 4 in 2 perfect innings of relief. Josh Donaldson, who was Sunday’s starting catcher, slugged a 3-run homer, outfielder Grant Green had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs, and outfielder Collin Cowgill had 3 hits, including a double, and crossed the plate 3 times.

Starter Sonny Gray allowed 4 runs over 6 innings, former first-round draft pick James Simmons gave up one run in 2 innings of work for the win, and right-hander Jonathan Ortiz struck out 2 in 1 scoreless inning of relief for his 4th save.

Starter Josh Bowman allowed 4 runs on 10 hits over 5 innings of work, but right-hander Jose Guzman gave up 1 run in the bottom of the 8th inning to take the loss.
